On Hallowed Ground

Indigo night

Full moon rising

Diamonds sparkling

Across the ocean.

Dunes looming

Ethereal spectres

Casting shadows

On shimmering sands.

Star-spangled heavens

Cascading moonbeams

Majestic tapestry

Hypnotic. Sublime.

Dancing barefoot

Delirious with joy

Happy oblivion

Spellbound with awe.

Captive heart

Spark of Divinity

Eternal flame

On hallowed ground.

For the last few weeks I have been studying an enjoyable short course “Making a Poem” with Manchester Metropolitan University via Future Learn.
The above is the poem I wrote for the final assessment.
A short while ago, I studied a short course about William Wordsworth with Lancaster University, also via Future Learn.
See my previous post:

So if you’re looking for something to do during the lock-down that a lot of us are experiencing at this time, then I can well recommend these courses. You can choose from hundreds of subjects, including up-to-date information on the Corona virus. The courses are well-written by experts, they’re interesting, informative, enjoyable and they’re free. Happy learning!

  1. Nice words and images. Patience in your new lockdown…

    • Thank you very much. The Wales lockdown ends on 9th November but England is starting a new lockdown on Thursday for at least a month. Scotland and Northern Ireland both have restrictions too. This seems to be the pattern now. Hopefully we’ll all be able to have some form of Christmas, Lovely to hear from you.

  2. The full moon picture is absolutely amazing! Wow…
