Tradition says that the Virgin Mary spent her latter years in the mountains above Ephesus in Turkey. A statue of Mary stands at the entrance to the celebrated site.

Thank you so much. I love Autumn colours too. This photo was actually taken at the end of November and the temperatures there were still in the 80’s.
Izzy, It’s fascinating to know that you had been to Panaja Kapoulo – to the house of Virgin Mary which lies behind the ridge of the Ala Dag. We couldn’t make it to there while visiting Istanbul and Izmir some years ago. Thank you for sharing these lovely pics. Jo
Thank you, Jo. I was mesmerised by that beautiful place. It felt like deja vu. I was so sure I’d been there before many moons ago.
Gorgeous photos!
Thank you, Ally. It was a lovely experience.
I can Just imagine. 🙂
Wow this is so amazing. I’ve always wondered where she went after everything happened in her life. Amazing photos and the fact that you visited there is so wonderful to me! Wow 🦋 ❤
You are so sweet, dear Michelle Marie. Thank you so much. xx
